SAP Fiori Advanced Online Training, Fiori & UI5 Online Training

Paying for SAP Fiori is the Least of Problem

The argument on this point is simple: Customers are disbursing maintenance on the existing SAP products, & Fiori is an enhancement to one of those products. Thus, SAP should make it available with no cost to customers. Fiori requires current releases of some SAP products. Some years back, SAP introduced the conception of enhancement packages, whereby the customers could selectively apply the upgrades to individual products of SAP instead of installing completely new version. This approach is quite good: it allows the customers to install only the updates more easily they really want or need. But it also means that several customers will not be totally up-to-date on all enhancement packages. Thus, when a customer requires to install a SAP Fiori app, the customer may need to upgrade to newer current version of this product at first & install definite enhancement packages. Depending on how back-leveled the user is, the update can be a major effort. The fundamentals for each Fiori application are necessary to know.

Despite of SAP’s stated policy of charging for Fiori, it is probable that SAP will be ready to cut an attractive deal while there is a bigger amount of money at stake.

Title: SAP Fiori – An Overview SAP Fiori is a set of applications that are newly written by SAP, which address the most frequently and broadly used SAP functions, such as information lookup, self-service tasks and workflow approvals. They provide easy-to-use and simple access across desktops, smartphones and tablets.

To get the quick ideas of what SAP Fiori is all about, you just go through some reviews with examples of SAP Fiori apps for managers. Fiori is beyond just a new UI (user interface). It’s a set of cross-device apps that, among other things, permit the users to start processing on their desktop & continue it on a smartphone or a tablet. SAP is developing the Fiori apps on its current user interface framework which is ‘SAPUI5’.

SAP lists the three types of its Fiori apps:

1- Transnational apps that allow users in performing SAP transactions on the mobile devices as well as on desktops. For example, there is a transnational application for making a leave of absence request & another for the approval of a purchase order.

2- Fact sheets that display information about the key business objects in SAP Fiori. For instance, there is a fact-sheet application for viewing central purchase contract. It allows the users to also drill-down into the related entities, such as items under contract, terms and vendor contacts.

3- Analytical apps that allow users to display the key performance measures along with the other aggregate information about any business.

SAP has so far released two waves of the Fiori apps of 25 applications each, having additional waves under way. It is quite important to note that SAP Fiori will never be a complete user interface replacement for the SAP. The reason behind this is that most of the SAP ERP processes can’t be performed with this Fiori ever. Those SAP procedures are simply very complex in their design & don’t lend themselves to disposition on a smartphone / tablet.
