What is Python?
Python is a programming language that is not just object-oriented and interpreted but even high level with vigorous semantics. The high level inbuilt data structures of this language in combination with dynamic binding and typing have made it one of the most attractive languages for the rapid development of applications. It is even used in the form of a glue or scripting language for connecting existing elements together. The easy to use and simple syntax of this language emphasizes readability thus reducing the cost of programming.
Guido van Rossum conceptualized the Python language during the late 1980s. Initially, the language was designed to serve as a good response to the well-known ABC language idealized in the Netherlands. Python had good similarities with the ABC programming language but there were better exceptions as well. Python, the language that was initially conceptualized was targeted towards the Amoeba OS. An interesting fact about this language is that it has not been named after a snake but a TV show in Britain called Monty Python.
Learning the Python programming language is fun! Not just software engineers, developers and data scientists but even hackers are fond of this language. This is all because of the object-oriented features, flexibility and versatility of the language. Learning this language is beneficial because it is a high-level programming language that has the potential of completing all kinds of complicated tasks. Learning this language is not just fun but easy as well. This is because of the clean syntax it comes with.
Well, it is quite easy to install the Python programming language as well. There are just a few steps that need to be followed. They are:
- Navigating Python download pages
- Clicking on download
- Following the instructions to download the language.
Once this is done, the users can open their terminals and type cd command. Next, they need to type the Python command. Once this is done, the Python interpreter responds with version number. Users can thus start their use of the language.
